After St. Martin’s Press (with a shameful record of PRIVISHING, CENSORING & shredding controversial books and authors) dropped the hammer on Hatfield’s brilliant, well-researched and documented biography, Sander Hicks, a self-described “Red patriot” offered to publish the manuscript that no one else had the courage to touch.

The Bush campaign threatened any media that covered Hatfield’s book would not be given press passes in a Bush White House.

On July 17 Jim checked into room 312 the Days Inn in Springdale, AR, adjoining Fayetteville where Clinton, Tyson and Blair roosted.

On July 18, 2001, Jim was found dead, with anti-depressants, fruit juice and vodka in his body. The death was officially ruled a suicide.

Even if it was, the real killers were the ones who hounded and persecuted this courageous investigative journalist and brilliant reporter for writing this well-documented truth about the high and mighty.
